WASHINGTON (AP) – The U.S. army says 17 Islamic State militants have been killed in airstrikes on Libya.
The Friday airstrikes, which have been introduced by U.S. African Command on Sunday, occurred in an Islamic State group camp about 50 miles southeast of Sirte. Along with the 17 deaths, the army stated the six “precision airstrikes” additionally destroyed three automobiles.
The U.S. army says the strikes have been carried out along side the Libyan army and aligned forces.
The army says the camp was used “by ISIS to maneuver fighters in and overseas; stockpile weapons and gear; and to plot and conduct assaults.”
Officers stated these terrorists have used Libya “to launch exterior terror assaults in neighboring nations,” together with a number of assaults throughout Europe.
