MEXICO CITY (AP) – Tropical Storm Pilar is shifting northward within the Pacific simply off Mexico’s western shore, raking coastal areas with rain and excessive winds after passing near the resort metropolis of Puerto Vallarta.
Pilar had most sustained winds of forty mph (sixty five kph) Sunday night time and its middle was about ninety five miles (one hundred fifty five kilometers) south of Mazatlan. It was shifting north at about eight mph (thirteen kph).
