ST. LOUIS (AP) – An undercover police officer and an Air Drive lieutenant have been among the many one hundred twenty individuals who have been forcibly arrested final weekend when police started clearing downtown St. Louis streets throughout protests over the acquittal of a white former officer within the killing of a black suspect.
The arrests final Sunday happened two hours after vandals broke home windows and threw gadgets at police. The officers used a tactic referred to as kettling to field in demonstrators.
The appearing police chief and Gov. Eric Greitens congratulated officers on their techniques. However The St. Louis Publish-Dispatch stories a few of these caught within the crackdown weren’t protesting and say officers used pointless drive.
Mayor Lyda Krewson on Friday requested the director of public security to research how an undercover officer was bloodied in the course of the arrests.
