Man shot in self-defense steals, then crashes, truck

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say a South Carolina man received shot for threatening individuals with a strain washer, then punched a lady within the face whereas stealing a truck he later crashed.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon stated 27-yr-previous Mark Day of Summerville is charged with 4 counts of assault and battery and two counts of carjacking.

Koon says Day ran from a house in Lexington County after a person shot him within the higher physique in self-protection. When two strangers in a truck stopped to verify on him, Day opened the door, repeatedly punched the passenger and pulled her out, then pushed the driving force out and drove away.

Koon says he crashed close to Chapin “moments later.”

Day was within the hospital Monday with non-life-threatening accidents. It is unclear if he has an lawyer.
