TOKYO (AP) – Japan’s child panda now has a reputation: Xiang Xiang, or perfume.

Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike stated Monday the three-month-previous big panda is known as Shan Shan in Japanese, or Xiang Xiang in Chinese language.

The identify, whose Chinese language characters imply perfume, was chosen from greater than 320,000 recommendations and was accepted by Chinese language authorities.

The Ueno Zoo in Tokyo says the panda is wholesome and rising quickly. She weighs 6 kilograms (thirteen kilos) and measures sixty five centimeters (26 inches) lengthy, almost twice as huge as she was a month in the past.

Movies launched final week confirmed the fluffy black-and-white cub crawling, and a few tooth coming in.

Xiang Xiang was born on June 12 to the zoo’s resident big panda, Shin Shin.
